Application/Operation:

The Chlorine Injector Station (CIS) is available in two models. Both require a constant water flow rate since the CIS does not compensate for flow variations. The CIS is used with the Edstrom Combo Flush Station to provide chlorinated water at 20-30 ppm for sanitizing rack manifolds and recoil hoses. With this application the CIS Model 301 is plumbed into the water supply line as shown in Figure 1.

The CIS can also be used in the Reverse Osmosis System permeate line. Installed between the RO machine and the storage tank, the CIS adds low levels of chlorine to the animal drinking water (see Figure 2). For this application the station can be supplied with a high capacity 35 gallon [132 L] solution tank as shown.

The stand-alone CIS Model 301 has a control panel which operates the pump when it senses water flow through the station. The CIS Model 302 can only be used with the Edstrom Model 5480 RHFS which has the GP Controller to handle the operation of the CIS (see Figure 3). A hard wire 115 VAC electrical connection is required to power the CIS.

After the initial set-up, the CIS requires very little attention. Periodic chlorine solution refills are all that is necessary. The solution tank is filled through a port on the tank's lid. A quick check of the chlorine concentration of the treated water will assure the CIS is operating correctly.
