Sexual Harassment Policy
Edstrom Industries, Inc. endorses the principle that all employees should be able to work in an environment free from verbal or physical harassment, which is sexual in nature. Our company does not condone sexual harassment.
To ensure that all of us enjoy a harassment-free workplace, Edstrom Industries prohibits any offensive physical, written, or spoken conduct of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment is a serious offense and anyone engaging in sexual harassment will be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge. Prohibited conduct may include, but is not limited to:
- Sexual slurs; unwelcome sexual advances or touching; sexual comments or jokes.
- Sexual favors used as a condition of employment or as a basis for any personnel decisions.
- Any display or circulation of sexually explicit written materials or otherwise offensive posters, calendars or material.
- Unwelcome requests or demands for sexual favors. This includes subtle or blatant expectations to engage in sexual relations and pressures for dates.
The very nature of harassment makes it difficult to detect unless the problem is reported. Any employee who has witnessed or been subject to any harassment should report the incident to his or her supervisor, to Colette Tommerson, Arthur Edstrom or Bill Edstrom Sr. or any other member of management the employee feels comfortable with.
Complaints will be promptly and thoroughly investigated. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for ensuring such complaints are thoroughly investigated and recommending appropriate actions to resolve complaints. Complaints will be treated as confidentially as possible in light of the company's need to fully investigate the matter and take appropriate corrective action. Employees who report harassment will not be subject to retaliation or reprisals of any kind.
It is the responsibility of managers, supervisors and all employees for implementation of this policy and ensures that these prohibited activities do not occur.
It is the policy of Edstrom Industries, Inc. to treat all complaints of sexual harassment with respect and confidentiality, and with a high regard for the personal privacy of all concerned parties. Any complaints of sexual harassment, or questions regarding this policy, should be directed to an individual's supervisor, the EEO Coordinator, Colette Tommerson, or any other member of management with whom the employee feels comfortable. Colette Tommerson will be responsible for ensuring such complaints are thoroughly investigated, and for recommending appropriate actions to resolve complaints.
